South America
Although, South America is on the same hemisphere as the United States, it’s countries are completely different in culture and economic status. Brazil which is the largest country in South America is quite different than many of other countries. First, Brazilians do not speak Spanish, but Portuguese. Secondly, they have many traditions and people groups that have their roots from Africa. These diversities and it’s large rain forest make Brazil unique and beautiful.
The weather is dedicated by the rain forest and the wild animal life is plentiful. Growing tropical fruit is common place and in abundance. Brazil’s natural beauty is amazing and validates what God said in Romans 1:19-20, that we can know Him and His eternal power by His creation. Brazil is an awesome wonder to see and experience.
Brazil is also known for it’s big cities and the McIntosh couple had the opportunity to minister in both Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Both cities are beautiful and metropolitan. Brazil is a very large country and the land offers city and rural living at its best. However, there is also a large group of people that live in poverty, as a result of a two-class economic system. For the most part, Brazil has an upper wealthy class and a lower class living in great need. This is what makes taking the Good News of Jesus Christ into this country so important.
