Happy Fourth of July!

As you celebrate with family and friends, we pray that you will have a blessed day, thanking our Heavenly Father for this great nation and its people. It is an honor to live under a government that still allows its citizens to worship and study God’s Holy Bible without fear or restriction. We are a nation of great opportunities, so continue to pray for our leaders that they have the wisdom of God to keep us in peace and prosperity.

In the natural it seems that Satan is winning the war against Christians. All we have to do is listen to the news to hear about stealing, killing, and destroying. All instigated by Satan (John 10:10) who deceives the whole world (Rev. 12:9). We are in a spiritual warfare and we must know what to say and do to keep defeated Satan out of our lives (Eph. 6:10-13).

We are still battling COVID-19, un-necessary abortions, homosexual marriages, school shootings and alike. Christians are asking, “Why does God allow this mess to continue?” (Matt. 2:16-18) The truth of the matter is that God has given His children dominion, power and authority over Satan and his evil assignments (Luke 21:26; First Peter 5:6-8).

This message is on “The Peace of God.” In order to live in “The Peace of God” you must first know the Prince of Peace [Jesus], as your personal Savior and Lord. Secondly, you must be filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking with other tongues; and thirdly, you must be grounded in a church home that is teaching the uncompromising Word of God.

Jesus warns us that we will have tribulations in this world. Therefore, don’t be surprised when you hear threating news of mass foreclosures, or a need for a second test to rule out cancer, or mass murders. No, instead be of good cheer for our Lord has overcome the world. In Jesus we have peace (John 16:33) because our Lord delivers us out of all persecutions and afflictions (2 Timothy 3:11).

Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Now this word “peace” in Hebrew is the word “shalom,” translated it means to be complete or sound. It represents a state of complete harmony, including safety, security, welfare, prosperity, health, contentment, and cessation from war. This is the kind of peace that God has provided for His children in Jesus Christ.

We do not need to worry about the tribulations that surround us because we can cast our cares on Him Who cares for us (Matt. 6:25-33). When we put our God first, He is obligated by His Word to protect and provide for us. Living in God’s peace is a direct result of being obedient—doing His Word (Psalm 34:14-17; 2 Cor. 13:11).
