Happy Resurrection Day!

Christians around the world are celebrating the life, death and resurrection of our Savior and Lord this month. It is a perfect time to thank Jesus for His selfless sacrifice and immense love for Mankind. It is a time to honor Him for His perfect Gift of Salvation and all the awesome benefits it gives to each believer. Without Jesus’ resurrection and completion of His divine assignment, we would all be condemned to hell (John 3:16-20). When an individual accepts the Gift of Salvation they are redeemed from the curse of the law (Romans 10:9-10).

Here is a summary of what it means to be redeemed in Jesus:

First: We no longer need a mortal high priest to intercede on our behalf. Jesus gave us the authority to come boldly to the Throne of Grace to speak to our Heavenly Father directly (Hebrews 4:16). As a result, the believer has a greater anointing and personal relationship that was once only for the chosen Levites. God only sees Jesus in us and therefore, we have been declared sinless with the same authority, privileges and sonship as that of our Savior Jesus.

Second: We are delivered from the power of Satan and his darkness. Christians have the right to use the Name of Jesus to keep Satan, his demons and evil assignments out of our lives. We are free from the bondage of Satan, if we choose to exercise our authority in His Word (Colossians 1:9-14).

Third: We are joint-heirs of the Kingdom of God. We don’t have to wait to go to Heaven to receive our inheritance in Jesus. Our Heavenly Father wants us to enjoy Jesus’ blood bought inheritance here on earth. Our redemption embodies every aspect of our lives—spirit, soul and body. Third John 2 says it like this, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” Psalm 1:3 tells us, “He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

Fourth: We are redeemed from the old sinful nature and reconciled back to the Heavenly Father as a new creation (Galatians 5:16-18). Family, we must say “no” to Satan and his evil temptations. We must not allow our body or flesh to rule us (First John 2:15-17). Rather do God’s Word and live victorious.

Fifth: Our eternal salvation is by grace and not of works. Jesus loved us so much that He paid the cost, so that we would be delivered from condemnation and eternal death. Now, Christians have right standing before God because of Jesus. All our sin; past, present, and future, is washed away with the blood of Jesus and we have eternal life in Him (Romans 5:8-11).

It is because of these and many more glorious benefits that Christians can rejoice in the Resurrection of Jesus our Savior!
