Prayers that Reach the Throne of God

The following is an excerpt from Dr. McIntosh’s book titled “Prayers That Reach the Throne of God.” This book is available for sale on Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com.

Our words are the effective weapon against Satan, his demonic angels and evil assignments. Whatever we are saying over our life situations, the life of our loved ones and or the world in general is what will take place in this earth realm. Our words create life or death and the good news is that we are responsible for it all. This is good news because we control our words and can make our words line up with God’s Word.

In Matthew 16:19 Jesus tells us, “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Jesus gave us the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven when He completed this redemptive work here on earth and provided Mankind with the Gift of Salvation. As a result, we can bind and loose on earth by our words which make our faith transactions effective in Heaven.

When we pray according to God’s Word, we are binding and loosing. We are declaring that we live in the Kingdom of Heaven right here on earth. This is what prayer is all about: Talking to our Heavenly Father and reminding Satan that he is defeated and under our feet. The following are three foundational principles that we must understand when waging a successful spiritual battle against Satan.

First, this battle is God’s, not ours. We are God’s vessels that He operates through (Jonah 2:1-2; Is. 6:8). Jesus has already won the war. What we must do is operate in Jesus’ dominion, authority and power. Then we can rest assure that our words or prayers reach the throne of God (Psalm 18:1-3, 5-6). God has delivered us from every evil work (II Tim. 4:18) in Jesus.

Secondly, victory is ours, no exception. First Corinthians 15:57-58 tells us that victory is in Jesus! We are more than conquerors, so let’s live according to the Holy Scriptures and share in the promises bought by the blood of Jesus. Our faith in God’s Word overcomes the world’s evil (I John 5:4). Jesus is the High Priest of our faith words (Hebrews 4:14-16) and He intercedes for us in the High Court of Heaven. Therefore, we must always speak those words that produce life and not death.

Lastly, expect to receive when you pray. When we pray according to God’s Will, we will always receive the blessings that God intended and promised us (I John 5:14-15; Matthew 7:7-17; John 15:7). Our job is to ask or pray in faith without doubting, so that God’s promise will manifest in our lives in Jesus’ Name (James 1:2-8).
