This special day is set aside for those in love and to honor the people in our lives that we dearly cherish. It is good to acknowledge all of our family members and share gifts with our loved ones. Please take the time to express your love to those special people in your life.
I also think that this is the perfect time to remember and acknowledge God’s love toward His children. He loves us so much that He made sure that His children would have clear instructions on how to live victorious in Jesus. His Holy Bible, especially the New Testament—the books of Romans through Jude—outline His blessings and promises available to each Christian. All we need to do is study and rightly apply His Word to our lives daily.
It is for this reason that I have dedicated this year to gaining godly wisdom and understanding of God’s Word. In so doing, I not only honor my Heavenly Father but also live in victory—spirit, soul, and body. If you do not already know, I am posting on Twitter X @IntoshMichelle every Friday my #WeeklyFaithConfession. My theme for this year is godly wisdom and understanding. I invite you to follow me and gain godly knowledge and understanding, so that you too may operate in the Wisdom of God.
The College Edition New Webster’s Dictionary of the English Language defines “wisdom” as the quality of being wise; the faculty to discern right and truth and to judge or act accordingly; sound judgement; shrewd; discretion; common sense; extensive knowledge. No wonder that the Holy Scriptures devoted the whole Book of Proverbs to godly wisdom. The Bible tells us that God’s Wisdom is omniscient—all knowing. God knows the end at the beginning and His Wisdom preserves those who use it. God’s Wisdom is better than gold because godly wisdom does not tarnish or fade away. It is everlasting and brings life, not death, to the doer of God’s Word.
When we operate in the Wisdom of God, we are operating at the supernatural level of our Heavenly Father. It is His wisdom that allows us to see clearly right from wrong. Godly wisdom gives us the ability to identify and avoid the works of the devil that come to steal, kill, and destroy us. And God’s wisdom shared in the Holy Bible is motivated by unselfish love. It does no harm to self or others.
Proverbs 3:13-18 says: “Blessed are those who find WISDOM, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. WISDOM is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. WISDOM is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.”
