Two-hundred and fifty years ago, men guided by godly principles fashioned a
government to be ruled by the citizens of this now great nation. Our government was
built on the integrity of its leaders to be held accountable by the three government
branches established under the Constitution: Legislative, Executive and Judicial. What
was unique to our then newly formed government is that the Bill of Rights gave its
citizens the right to choose their leadership and remove those in office not governing
justly.
And, just as important as our right to vote is our right to religious freedom. Many
individuals do not know that our Heavenly Father inspired the founding fathers to
legally give us the privilege to worship the Living God without hindrance and share
the Gospel of Jesus around the world. It is an honor to live under a government that
still allows its citizens to worship and study God’s Holy Bible without fear or restriction.
We are a nation of great opportunities, so diligently pray for our leadership that they
have the wisdom of God to keep this nation in peace and prosperity.
We must exercise your legal freedom to not only live our life in Jesus, but to also
support missionary work here in the USA and around the world. You may not be called
to go to the foreign nations. However, you can financially support those who are called
and willing to go to speak of the goodness of our Lord. There are still too many people
who have never heard the Good News or been given the opportunity to receive the Gift
of Salvation. Christians are ambassadors for the Kingdom of God which includes the
ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:16-21).
People all over the world are searching for peace and prosperity. However, in order to
live in peace and prosperity they must first know the Prince of Peace, as their personal
Savior. Secondly, they must be filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking
with other tongues; and thirdly, they must be grounded in a church that is teaching the
uncompromising Word of God. Christians must unite in accordance with the written
Holy Bible and share with others its godly principles.
We must not alienate those who worship false gods. We are responsible to our Living
God to share His message of love to all who are willing to hear. This is the way to
grow in Jesus and increase God’s family paid for with the Savior’s precious blood.
The answer to the world’s problems is found in Jesus Christ (Psalm 34:14-17; 2 Cor.
13:11). Jesus warns us that we will have tribulations in this world (Philippians 4:6-7).
Therefore, don’t be surprised when you hear of threatening news. No, instead be of good
cheer for our Lord has overcome the evil world-system. In Jesus we have peace (John
16:33) because our Lord delivers us out of all persecutions and afflictions (2 Timothy
3:11).
